Tax evasion, profit shifting and state aid
This week UFE president Florian Koebler participated on CESI @ noon. Dr. Max Lienemeyer (European Commission) presented his work against state aid (e.g. decisions Apple, Starbucks….). Later tax evasion and tax avoidance were discussed. Florian Koebler appreciated the work of the European Parliament and the European commission. After the European election the focus should be to enact the common consolidated corporate taxe base (ccctb), which is the key to fight tax avoidance.
Nevertheless the best laws and directives are useless, if the countries have not enough officers to guarantee enough tax audits.

Facing the rapid spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19 in Europe as in the rest of the world, States have taken strong and unprecedented measures, aiming above all to slow down its development by “social distancing”. Border controls have been re-established, and emergency economic support measures are being developed in order to reduce the destabilization of economic and social life as much as possible. Some European leaders speak about a state of health war. For the World Health Organization, this new kind of virus represents a threat to all of humanity….

For an introductory talk the UFE Presiding Board was invited by the World Customs Organization (WCO), which was established in 1952 as the Customs Cooperation Council (CCC) is an independent intergovernmental body whose mission is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Customs Administrations.
