UFE Position Paper: Ensuring Fairness and Efficiency in the EU “Omnibus on Taxation”
The European Commission has launched a “Call for Evidence” regarding its planned “Omnibus on Taxation,” an initiative aimed at consolidating several key corporate tax directives into a single framework. The Commission expects this to reduce administrative burdens for businesses by at least 25% and for SMEs by 35%.
As the European umbrella organisation, representing tax and customs officials all over Europe, the Union of Finance Personnel in Europe (UFE) has submitted a formal position paper to ensure that this push for simplification does not come at the expense of tax justice or operational feasibility.
