May 16 2025 by

The 51st Congress of the UFE took place from the 23rd–25th September 2025 in Grainau and Munich, Germany. This year, the DSTG had the honour of hosting customs and tax union representatives from across Europe. The focus was on collaboration, mutual learning and shaping the future of tax and customs administrations together.

UFE President and DSTG Federal Chairman Florian Köbler emphasised the importance of dialogue and cooperation among European trade unions, stating that constructive partnerships are essential for successfully navigating the upcoming challenges in the tax and customs sector.

A particularly positive development was the return of the Nordic countries to the UFE. Their renewed participation strengthens the voice of European tax and customs unions and underlines the value of unity. In this context, the UFE committee was pleased to welcome Karin Tanderø Schaug from Norway, who was elected as a new Vice President.

The agenda featured discussions on modernization efforts, digitalization, and the protection of workers’ rights. Delegates shared insights from their countries and explored best practices for stronger, future-ready administrations.

Florian Köbler expressed his sincere thanks to all participants for the valuable conversations, fruitful networking, and the shared commitment to European solidarity.
