39th congress in Helsinki

At the 39 th Committee Congress in Helsinki in 1999, Dieter Ondracek was elected the new President of the Union of Finance Personnel in Europe. Jos Schaack was no longer available for re-election due to his appointment as State Secretary for Public Adminis-tration and Administrative Reform in Luxembourg. Simultaneously, UFE was expanded in Helsinki. Two financial unions were newly accepted: Unie van Financien (Belgium), which organises tax and customs officers, as well as Verband des Schweizer Zollpersonals (VSZP), the union of the uniformed Swiss customs personnel.

The foundation of UFE

At the request of the Dutch and German colleagues, the Union of Finance Officers in Europe (UFE) was founded at the conference in Munich on 22 May 1963.
