39th congress in Helsinki

At the 39 th Committee Congress in Helsinki in 1999, Dieter Ondracek was elected the new President of the Union of Finance Personnel in Europe. Jos Schaack was no longer available for re-election due to his appointment as State Secretary for Public Adminis-tration and Administrative Reform in Luxembourg. Simultaneously, UFE was expanded in Helsinki. Two financial unions were newly accepted: Unie van Financien (Belgium), which organises tax and customs officers, as well as Verband des Schweizer Zollpersonals (VSZP), the union of the uniformed Swiss customs personnel.

40th Commitee

The 40 th Committee Congress in Brussels in 2000 took place with the Belgium Minister of Finance, Didier Reynders, and the EU Commissioner competent for budget and combating abuse, Dr. Michaele Schreyer, as well as the General Director Michael van den Abeele participating. Three new member unions joined UFE:
